Summer

I know I haven't posted forever, but I think that may be a trend with me. I have to remind myself to make time to do this. To my credit I actually tried to post twice earlier about Retreat for Girls, but I was posting from our new laptop because that is where the pictures were but it keep shutting the internet off while I was trying so I gave up. I thought that I would try to post some of our summer excitement quick. We are leaving tomorrow for a vacation so I better post now or it will be a while before I can again. Here are some highlights of the past month.

1- 4th of July

Here are my three cute kiddos. My kids love to dress up for the 4th, so this year I made matching shorts for all of the kids, kind of cheesy but that's me! The fourth was really fun, We went to my grandparents for breakfast, to my parents for the afternoon and to the fireworks in Lewiston with Jer's family. The only bad part of the day is Trey couldn't get wet because of the surgery he just had on his ear so he was a little discouraged that he was the only one that couldn't get wet. With Trey's surgery we find out tomorrow if everything is healing ok. Hopefully it will be good news!!
2- Retreat for Girls
Retreat for girls went really, really good. I am so happy with the way it turned out. We all got a little exhausted from the whole experience. Our favorite story about this is one night at dinner Trey got off his chair and stood on the ground and put his head on the chair. I looked over just a few seconds later and he was asleep. I couldn't believe it. We were laughing so hard. It took us all awhile to recover the next week. Paige and I both ended up getting sick but we are all better now.

Most of my retreat pictures like I said are on the laptop. Here is Sadie and Trey playing around in our little apartment on campus.

Here is one of my favorite parts of retreat. This is during the final program when all of the girls sing the theme song for the week. I love watching them sing and the spirit that you feel. My niece Aubrey came to retreat this year. It was fun to have her there. She actually spoke at the final program and she did really good. To explain this part each counselor chooses one girl from her group to talk at the program and Aubrey's counselor choose her, no nepotism involved here! She did a great job and I was really proud of her!! It was fun to have her there.

3- Sadie Looses Her Two Front Teeth!
Sadie lost three teeth in one week! She actually lost one of her front teeth a couple days before Retreat started. At Retreat for Girls she lost one of her bottom teeth and then she lost her other front tooth a couple days later. She is toothless now!!

4- Twin Falls Temple Open House.
We took our kids to the Twin Falls Temple open house. We were also able to take our kids to the Rexburg open house in January. It is such a neat experience to show the kids the temple. The kids loved the experience and the spirit that they felt in the temple. They were so reverent and good during the tour. The temple was beautiful. It was smaller then I thought it would be but it was beautiful none the less.
Here are the kids in front of the temple. After we went to the temple we went over to Shoshone Falls.
It was beautiful. The only problem I had is that I am extremely afraid of heights and to my suprise and horror Sadie has NO FEAR!! It was a little stressful watching her lean right up against the edge of the fence and look over. It about gave me a heart attack.

Here is a picture of the falls. They call them the Niagara Falls of the West. They really are beautiful. They are actually 50 feet taller than Niagara Falls.

Here is Jeremy and the kids in front of the falls.

Here is Trey and I in front of the falls.

5- Paige is Going to State!

Paige did a demonstration on Food Safety for 4-H and she gets to go to the state fair!!! Way to go Paige!

6- 24th of July

Finally the 24th of July. We went to a tiny tiny parade this year in Clifton (the kids were a little disappointed). Paige's 4-H cooking class was in it. There were games at the park after and fireworks that night. The fireworks were awesome. When they were done Trey, Sadie and our neice Josie were yelling Go Clifton, Go Clifton!!

Here is Paige's bike decorated for the parade. She is wearing a pioneer bonnet on top of her bike helmet. Her group is called the Happy Sugar Cookie Girls.

Here we are on a little covered wagon ride that was at the park. The kids loved it!

Well there is our excitement. Other then these things we have been busy busy de-junking our house and cleaning up. It is getting there and it feels better. We moved our playroom into a different room and made the old playroom a little TV room and excercise equipment area. I also tackeled my mending pile and am proud to say I only have one thing left to do! Yeah!! Well that's it for now!

You guys have been sooo busy! But it all looks like fun. I'm glad to hear Retreat went well. What happened with Trey's ear? I didn't hear about that one. Have a fun vacation!

Good to hear things are going well with you guys. A couple girls in our ward went to the retreat and they had so many good things to say about it. I'm sure it was great knowing you. Love the matching shorts. Jealous you can sew and make outfits like that. We'd be "cheesy" more often at our house if I were talented. I didn't even know the open house was going on in Twin Falls. Those are always great experiences for kids especially. I hope Trey's ear is doing better and you are going some place fun for vacation. Loved the bonnet and bike helmet combo- and congratulations on the 4-H thing. I used to do 4-H when I was young. It was a great experience. Lastly, love the toothless grin! So many fun things this summer. Someday we'd love to see you again!

It sounds like a fun filled summer! Where are you going on vacation? Tell Sadie to stop losing so many teeth, or Cooper will be jealous! Cooper still has only lost the two bottom teeth... and he never even got to be tootless, since the permanent ones grew in before the baby ones fell out! The pictures of your kids are so darling! I'm sad that we weren't able to go to the Rexburg Temple open house, especially since we watched it "grow up" from the beginning. I'm glad your kids got to experience both the Rexburg and Twin Falls temples! That's so neat! Let us know what the diagnosis is with Trey. He's sure growing up fast! Congrats to Paige with her 4H, and last but not least, Aubrey LOVED retreat, and when my mom asked her if it made her testimony stronger, she said that it definitely did. So, thank you!!
