It has been a fun and busy couple of weeks at our house. Here at the Smith house Halloween is a big deal. It rates right up there to Christmas with my kids. Halloween preparations start in the summer with dreaming up what they want to be and then the fabric shopping starts and then the costumes have to be made (I didn't make spider man though! Yeah) and then the weeks leading up to it with all of the fun Halloween activities. There is a little let down that it is all over but my kids are still trying to figure out the mystery of the local pumpkin smasher, yes our beloved pumpkins were stolen, thankfully the day after Halloween, and smashed. I guess that is one way of getting rid of them, Jeremy and I were trying to figure out a way of kindly throwing away their creations, so the smasher did us a favor in that way, but it did make the kids sad, and darn it they stole my new candles that were perfect for pumpkins after only three uses......... darn those kids!!!! I thought I would post some of our fun times the last couple of weeks!!
CORN MAZE
This year we went to the American West Heritage Center's corn maze. It was a lot of fun. It had games for the kids, a wagon ride (which they got to ride up front on, bonus!) a kids maze and Halloween lights as well. We had a great time and Sadie was in heaven because it was a Charlotte Web theme and she loved the fact that she was walking through a pig. I don't know what it is with her and pigs, she loves them!!

AGGIE HOMECOMING GAME
We love the A
ggies at this house, even if they always loose at football. There is something to be said of true A
ggie fans (we are not talking about the kissing type of true A
ggies in this instance) they are loyal and loud and the games are a blast, even when they are losing. Jeremy and I get tickets every year to homecoming
because of our
studentbody officer service when we were there so it has become something we all look forward to every year. We missed out on the
pre game dinner that we usually go to
because it was Paige's last soccer game (yeah for me!!) and she didn't want to miss it (it was also Sadie's but she wanted to miss hers, the difference between kids!). We got there just in time to get the kids faces painted and then off to the game. The game was great fun, wonderful weather around 70 degrees and plenty of treats. The game even had some good football as well. We thought that we were winning and we were until the last two seconds, no lie, and we lost by a 58 yard field goal! What a bummer!!!!

The kids decked out in Aggie apparel at the game.
Showing off their painted faces.
After the game we went to the pumpkin walk which is always a lot of fun. This is my favorite picture of the whole pumpkin walk. Isn't it cute!! They really are cute friends. It's one of those, "Oh look my kids really do love each other" pictures. It looks like a greeting card doesn't it?!
SADIE'S BIRTHDAY
Our sweet Sadie turned six on October 28th. This event was very much anticipated by Sadie, she talked about it every 10 minutes for a month straight. You think I am exaggerating? NO, I am not in this instance! Sadie had a Fancy birthday like Fancy Nancy. She LOVES, LOVES these books and Fancy Nancy. She relates to Fancy Nancy, she loves to be girly, she loves Purple (or as Nancy says Fuchsia, a fancy word for purple) and she loves to be dolled up. It was a great theme for her, however she started thinking that things were not fancy enough so we had to tone her down a little. It turned to be fun, fun, fun!! She had a friend birthday party and they were all fancy. She even got a darling Fancy Nancy doll (thanks to Aunt Jill who found it finally for me) for her birthday. It was a great day, I just can't believe my baby girl is six. We are so blessed that she is in our lives. She is a great helper and our best cuddler, we love you Sadie!!

Their fancy tea party.
Sadie and her cake. She wanted a fancy one, but let's face it, I am her mom and there is only so much I can do. She wanted it pink and purple, her birthday colors. Check out the fancy candles though, they thrilled her ( that is a fancy word for making her happy.) Look I have the Fancy Nancy lingo down!!
CARVING PUMPKINS
We carved an painted pumpkins two days before Halloween. Jeremy always shows us up. His is the amazing pirate ship. We grew our pumpkins so it is fun for the kids to see the fruits of their labors.

Trey with his pumpkin. Notice the continuation of his hard smiling stage. He really is happy of the whole situation!

Paige proud of carving a pumpkin for the first time!
Me and my pumpkin. Look, there is a cute smile from my little guy.

Look how cool it looks in the dark.
HALLOWEEN
We had a fun Halloween. We trunk or treat here (because we live so far apart). It is always fun but this year was awesome because of the weather!! We didn't even need coats. The kids were running around at first and it was so fun just to see the kids interact with other kids all in their costumes and it was warm enough for them to do it without coats, although that blissful 68 degree weather is gone, it was snowing today, such a sad day!! Paige was Dorothy. We got some authentic shows from the costume closet that I volunteer at and that inspired her costume. She looked awesome, she really looked liked Dorothy. Sadie was a poodle girl as she calls it, we made her a poodle skirt. I think it was inspired from the play Bye Bye Birdie that I costumed earlier this year, and Fancy Nancy also wears a poodle skirt. Trey was Spiderman, and he loved the muscles. We even found him some Spiderman gloves. In the picture below Paige is lifting her skirt in attempts to show her ruby red slippers. After trunk or treating we always go to Grandma Lynda's for doughnuts with Melissa's family. Fun times!

FINALLY, THE WATKINS FAMILY HALLOWEEN PARTY
My family has a Halloween party every year that is a lot of fun. It was also my dad's 60th birthday. I promise this post is almost over. Here is my little family at the party. You may ask, so what are you and Jeremy dressed up like. The answer, I don't know, but we dressed up at least!

The
grand kids giving grandpa 60 birthday spankings each. All I can say dad, is it was your turn to get the spankings!

Finally, My brother the monk, doesn't he look great! I have many more pictures of the party, but I am tired of doing this post and I figure you are tired of looking at it. It was a long one! Whew! What a couple of weeks. Now it's time to eat lots of candy and get ready for the next whirlwind of activities that will begin soon, I'm sure. Thanksgiving is coming.......

Yay new pictures! I love them. I can't believe Sadie is 6 its so crazy. Molly loves Fancy Nancy, she will love seeing these pictures. And how funny, Molly was Dorothy too. They both make pretty cute Dorothy's. I love both of the girls costumes, you are amazing that you can do that, we just buy them here. Well it looks like you guys have been having lots of fun, we miss the Aggie games too. Well love you all and thanks for continuing to post pics we love them!
You have been busy! We miss you guys so much. It has seriously been forever. Loved the corn maze and pumpkin walk. We were too cheap to pay for tickets to watch the Aggies lose, but we were tempted. And... as usual, you did an amazing job on everyone's costumes. How is it to be so talented? Must be very nice:)
